Hey Loves! Today I bring you a new face mask and tonic spray that I received from Jocelynn at Tiber River Naturals. Any time of the year I  use and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE face masks and tonic spray to combat whatever craziness my skin is going through. So talk about perfect timing when Jocelynn over at Tiber River Naturals sent me the Sunny & Char Charcoal facial scrub and mask, along with the Green Tea tonic spray.

Tiber River Naturals

A little background on Tiber River Naturals, it is a “Canadian woman owned and operated company with multiple retail locations in Winnipeg.” This company believes in “providing  women, men, and children with products that are good for their bodies, homes, as well as the environment.” To celebrate my recent blog launch I have teamed up with Jocelynn from Tiber River Naturals to do a GIVEAWAY! My Skin Type

So let’s jump into a little background on my skin for those of you who are new to this blog cause as you know I just relaunched this Friday! Welcome first of all if you are new and thank you for joining me! In the winter months I am a Normal to dry skin type, dry around my forehead and my nose area, normal everywhere else. Now once our Vancouver weather hits the Summer months my skin is more on the combination to oily type. Oily in the t-zone (forehead, down the nose and chin area) and Normal everywhere else. One of my favorite facial cleansers that keeps my oiliness at bay during the summer months is a charcoal based cleanser by LUSH cosmetics, Dark Angels. Sunny & Char Facial Scrub and Mask

Out of the two products I received, I was most excited to test out this charcoal face mask! Sunny & Char is a two in one facial scrub and mask good for all skin types. It’s two key ingredients are a combination of tamarind and charcoal.

Key ingredients and What they do

• Tamarind – helps to brighten and lighten your skin, has anti-aging properties, is an anti-blemish agent and is natural cure for various inflammatory skin conditions.
• Charcoal – used to attract and absorb dirt and oil
• Banana Extract – Softens the skin, moisturizes and hydrates it.
• Myrrh Powder – is an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agent that helps reduce redness, balances the skin and prevents blemishes.
• Black Lava Salt – Used as the exfoliating agent. Helps to open up the pores.
• Chaparral Extract – A herb that calms the skin and soothes rashes.
• Neroli Essential Oil – revives skin at a cellular level.
• Mandarin Essential Oil – reduces the appearance of stretch marks, scars and wrinkles.

My Experience

I haven’t fully switched out my winter skincare routine just yet. I am on my last bit of Angels on Bare Skin cleanser by LUSH cosmetics (click here to read review). I had planned to pick up Dark Angels, as my skin has been getting quite oily with the heat we’ve been experiencing. The Sunny & Char face mask totally cleared that all up for me! I applied the mask onto my clean dry skin and let it work its magic for about 10 mins. Most of the time I hate the feeling of a face mask hardening on my skin this is not the case with the sunny & char mask! I actually wanted to leave the mask on longer. After using the mask my skin felt matte and the oiliness had been stripped away. My face felt soft, supple and there was a vibrancy to my skin. I will definitely be purchasing another jar of this face mask when I’m out! A new go to for my summer skincare routine.

Green Tea Tonic

This is the product that launched Tiber River Naturals. It is an anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial product that addresses a variety of skincare issues and is suited for all skin types.

My Experience

Tonic sprays and toners are products that I never really saw the point of until a couple of years ago when I actually researched what on earth they were used for! Toners are used to balance your skin. I use this green tea tonic after I have washed my face and before I put on moisturizer. If I am using it along with the Sunny & Char facial scrub I would apply the tonic spray after the removal of the mask. This green tea tonic refreshes and revitalizes my skin and is perfect to take on the go!
