Real Techniques Core Collection

Real Techniques Core Collection

Hi All! I recently purchased the Real Techniques Core Collection and wanted to do a mini review on it for you all in case anyone was thinking about buying it and was on the fence maybe this will help you choose which side to jump over. So you know how I just did a review last week about my beloved Elf brush.. well I had washed them on a Saturday night and went to use it the next morning only to find out that it was still wet! So I thought oh why don’t I just blow dry it for a bit? BAD IDEA the bristles that were once nice and soft are all stuck together and hard now 🙁 stupid me its not real hair DUH! So I went out to get a replacement but couldn’t find one anywhere and stumbled upon the Core Collection at Walmart.

This brush set retails at $18.50 and it is a steal at that price! I also own the RT expert face brush (which just like the elf brush I decided to blow dry and ruin. Sad, sad day) so I already knew that these brushes would be excellent high quality at an affordable value. These bristles are super soft to the touch and can blend out anything effortlessly. The collection comes equipped with its own case which can also turn into a stand for the brushes, handy for organizing

First in the collection is the contouring brush which is the dome tapered brush. I actually use this brush for highlighting though this brush is acclaimed to be one of the best for contouring, for me it just doesn’t work. It’s a little to small for my liking. Perfect for highlighting in my opinion.

Second is the pointed foundation brush. I use this to blend out my under eye concealer.

Third we have the detailer brush. This is wonderful for applying eyeshadow in the tear duct area.

Lastly is the Buffer brush which is my favourite of them all. I’ve seen this brush compared to the Sigma F80 and on more than one occasion and this brush has won the battle. The bristles aren’t to compact which allows for more movability. I now use this brush to blend out my Urban Decay Naked Skin liquid foundation and its flawless everytime. I would buy this collection just for this brush! It alone is worth the $18.50.

So there you have it lippies! Hope this helps!

Until next time Xo – Beth

I have this as well and use the contour brush and buffer brush regularly. I do like the buffer brush and the expert face brush better than my Sigma kabuki brushes for foundation as well.
