Joining My Girls Dance Classes

Joining my girls dance classes, dance classes, pre-jazz, hip-hop

Hey Friends! Last week was parent participation week at the Guildford School of Music and Dance and I was invited to join my girls dance classes to get a taste of what they’re learning! Let me tell ya, they had me breaking out into a sweat within the first 10 minutes!

First off I’d like to say that I love how the Guildford School of Music and Dance keeps you in the loop and up to date on everything that is happening within the school. They send out monthly emails to keep parents informed with important dates, such as recital dates and participation dates such as these!

Pre-Jazz and Hip-Hop with Margaux

The first class I joined was Margaux’s Pre-Jazz and Hip-Hop class! The studio has a viewing window where you can watch the kids dance during their class, so I’ve seen their warm ups and dance moves before and thought no problem easy peasy! Well the kids sure make the moves look easy, but it was quite the workout for us mamas that were in the class!

The instructors had us planking, doing high kicks, sashaying, galloping and more throughout the class. It was fun learning the moves and watching Margaux’s face light up as I danced along side her. She was teaching mommy something new and she was so proud of it!

Does this sound like something your little ones would enjoy? Then come have fun in music lessons and dance classes with me at the School of Music & Dance!

Ballet with Aria

Not only did I join Margaux’s dance class last week, but I also joined Aria’s Ballet class which took place right after. Boy did this mama get a workout! It was nice to learn the different types of dance! I liked seeing how each type of dance had its own uniqueness and flow. Aria and Margaux actually share the same dance instructor, so it was neat to see how she transitioned from teaching one form of dance to another.

During this class I definitely learned that Aria’s talent in ballet did not come from me LOL!! It was a struggle to be all dainty and elegant, soft and whimsical with every move. Aria on the other hand was totally on point with every step, hand gesture and body movement. I enjoyed getting to watch her up close and personal.

The girls are now starting to learn dance choreography for their upcoming recital in June and I am so excited to watch their performance! It’s not to late for your little ones dance dreams to come true! Come and join my girls and I at the Guildford School of Music and dance !

If you want to read more about the school and their classes, read about My girls first experiences with Dance Classes! Here I touch on how we are able to incorporate dance classes into our fully booked busy schedule! I also share my prior concerns about putting them into dance classes and how I overcame them once I saw how much they enjoyed it! You’ll also learn how easy it was for the kids to transition into the classes. 🙂

Until next time Friends!
